Second ‘Fibreglassics’ car run a great success

The second ‘Fibreglassics’ car run to Jarrahdale south of Perth on Sunday was a great success.

About 35 classic fibreglass ‘plastic fantastic’ vintage and current model sports vehicles took part in the event, which was organised by Perth motoring enthusiast Greg Morris.

The day started at Mean Machines café in Morley where the owners of a mixture of Corvette, Lotus, Bolwell, AC Cobra, Marcos and various other fibreglass vehicles gathered for coffee and a hearty breakfast.

The convoy left Morley at about 9am – destination Fiora Machinery sales centre in Cannington – where owner Mick built his Australian fibreglass ‘Perrenti’ vehicle many years ago.

The group were also treated to an eclectic collection of other fibreglass and metal vehicles, including trikes and even a steam locomotive!

From Fiora Machinery the Fibreglassic convoy headed for the Jarrahdale Tavern for lunch and to catch up on the latest Bathurst standings – as Sunday was Bathurst race day.

The afternoon was rounded off by a bit of ‘ride sharing’ as the various owners took other participants for short rides in their vehicles – to experience the difference between a Bolwell and a Corvette, for example.

All had a great day and I am sure Greg will be organising another Fibreglassics day out before too long.
