World’s leading business coach uncovers home truths
I just covered a thought-provoking seminar for the Australian Institute of Management WA (AIM WA) entitled: ‘Creating Behaviour that Lasts’, by the world’s leading executive business coach, Dr Marshall Goldsmith.
The one-day seminar, held last week at the Hyatt Regency, Perth, attracted more than 230 of Perth’s leading managers, CEOs and other business executives.
During the seminar, Dr Goldsmith covered a lot of ground, including how outside influences or ‘triggers’ can constantly impact on our environment throughout the day, often negatively.
Our reactions to these triggers (they are usually in the form of people or situations) often cause us to behave in a manner that is the polar opposite to how we see ourselves.
Dr Goldsmith said these triggers were constant and ranged from poor relationships between staff members at work, to technological interruptions such as mobile phones, tablets and texts.
Dr Goldsmith has written 35 books including New York Times and Wall Street Journal best selling business books Triggers – Creating Behaviour That Lasts, Becoming the Person You Want to Be, and What Got You Here Won’t Get You There.
In November 2015 Dr Goldsmith was recognized as the #1 Leadership Thinker in the World and the top-5 Management Thinker at the Thinkers50 Award Ceremony in London.
